I have lived in 7 other apartments in the Phoenix Metro area. La Serena is the best of all of them hands down. I have lived here for 5 years. I will most likely stay at least another year. For North Phoenix La Serena is on the lower end of the rent spectrum. Most other properties nearby rent for $100 - $200 more per month and the units are smaller. The things people are complaining about in the negative reviews are things you will experience in any apartment you rent. No matter how much it costs or where it is. Dogs, people being loud at the pool, pot smoking, lack of parking, all of those things are part of living in an apartment. It is what it is. The pool is closed at 10. People rarely walk their dogs after 9. Pot is legal in AZ. Guest parking is always a pain in an apartment. What matters to me is whether or not I can hear my neighbors and whether or not they can hear me. I play bass guitar and I can practice at home with no issues. None of my neighbors can hear me. I can't remember that last time I heard one of them. I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath larger than anything you can rent for miles around. For a price that is less than everywhere else. I would rent here again and again if life permitted it. :)
