Paying rent at Pinnacle Towne Center

If you want to know what the manager of this complex is like read on. We paid rent a few days earlier then the 1st. A week later we notice our account is drastically lower then it should be. After reviewing our account we noticed that rent was taken out of our account twice on the same day even had the same check number. The next day we visited the bank and showed them what are concerns were. Once they had reviewed our account the verdict was the apartment complex had first electronically taken out the rent then cashed the check as well. Immediately after we went to the apartment office to talk with the manager (Brenda). Unfortunately she was at another location and we could not speak with her in person but was able to call her. She returned our call and I told her what had happened at the bank and that I wanted assurance that we would not have this problems again because it could cause us financial problems because of our account being so low and checks might bounce. She said she would need proof that our account was debited twice and required a copy of our statement. I told her that I could not give her a copy as I was unable to feel confident about giving out that information. I explained that the statements show a lot of information that I should not have to give to her as far as debits and deposits. Brenda said she could do nothing unless she had proof that they had taken out rent twice. I thought that was weird because now I felt like she was calling me a liar but what would I have to gain from this. I also thought that if they have an accounting department they should be able to see what was deducted and how many times along with when. I mean how do they know who paid and who didn't....... Anyways I told Brenda that I had filed a complaint with the electronic deduction, I've never given the apartment complex permission to electronically withdraw the money either. I also had asked her if this was going to be looked into so I did not have to worry about a repeat in the future and possible creating financial issues with our checking account. Brenda denied that it was their fault and said it was the banks fault. I wonder how she can say this even though she needs proof that it happened before she will help resolve the problem. After not being able to resolve anything with Brenda the manager I informed her that we would pay going forward with money orders so we would not have to worry about a repeat in the future. She said she was ok with that. Not only is Brenda not customer service oriented but she doesn't care about her tenants. We are on a small budget with a 10 month old and another on the way. Only one pay check living pay check to pay check. I would never recommend coming to this location because when it counts it doesn't matter.
