Rancho Sierra is a great "starter" apartment. I moved in when I first moved to Phoenix in 2011 and was happy to live there. After a while, The charm kind of wore off and I just needed to get into a larger 1 bedroom apartment with a bit more higher quality features (wasn't a fan of the popcorn ceiling, doors, cabinets, or size for what I was paying). It is, however, located well right by the 51 and in a nice area - except for being right next to a high school. The grounds are decent; nothing too special, but definitely not a sore sight. The main positive from this apartment is the staff. All of them are very kind and make you feel extremely welcome and comfortable. It wasn't a bad choice for me at all, but I just needed a little bit more in an apartment for what I was paying.
