I have lived in Roosevelt Square for over three years now, and am planning on staying for at least another two. As a native Phoenician, I have lived in Boston, DC and Saint Louis, and traveled extensively throughout the country for business and pleasure.

Quite frankly, I am very happy with my apartment. Relative to other Class AA properties in the Phoenix metropolitan area, the construction of this complex is among the best. I have had minimal problems with noise from my neighbors. If I had any complaints, it would be regarding ambient noise from the AC unit and the cabinetry. But frankly, those are minor inconveniences that I got used to quickly. The place is built with double gyp board, concrete floors, and metal studs, so construction problems are nowhere near the level of chicken wire and spit built places elsewhere.

I have never had any problems with parking or walking downtown at night. But let's be real: downtown Phoenix nightlife is growing, and more importantly, downtown has never really been as bombed out as some places (downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp 20 years ago???). With the light rail construction and the Portland Place condominiums going up across the street, life will be interesting, but that's what residents have signed up for.

Having been a resident for over three years, I have certainly seen my share of problems, including flooding of some units. I sympathize with those folks, but stuff happens, even when you own your own place. Staff has always been courteous and responsive, regardless of whether they were Alliance or Post.

Regarding the cars that got flooded out in August, that was an unfortunate situation. But realize, though, that parking at the base of both garages is for retail tenants. The folks that got flooded out really shouldn't have been parking there in the first place. Convenience parking on the street or on these levels is done at residents' own risk; more than enough private parking is available between both garages. A freak rainstorm that overwhelms pumps is part of the risk one assumes when parking below grade.

In any event, I am very satisfied with my place, and am sticking around!
