Overall the condos are okay. The only real problems were that there was always a ton of dog poop in front of my building, a lot of very nosey condo owners, and it took several work orders to fix one thing. If you want to live further out in Ahwatukee, the rates are reasonable and basic condo finishes are decent. The main issue I have with San Simeon is the staff or maybe lack of staff you could say. *** Please be aware that if you ever need to talk with someone in the office, be prepared to leave two and three messages before you hear anything back. There is also no point in going down to the office because it is randomly closed much of the time. Once you receive your move out charges, paint cost for a two bedroom starts out at a STANDARD$180. This includes $60 for paint and $120 labor. I was told by the manager that this is regardless whether or not you paint your apartment and she stated that was according to the maintenance man who decides all of the move out charges. I also want to make it clear that we did not paint, barely hung anything up on the wall and there really were not any dark areas in the apartment that required priming. I know that from working previously as a property manager, that this is an absolutely absurd amount. My friend who actually painted her walls at Serafina (also in Ahwatukee) was charged less than I was. On top of the ridiculous charge, it took 3 voicemails over two weeks to receive a call back to discuss the charges. The manager said she just didn't know why no one called back, but it was either a. they were ignoring my calls or b. knew the paint charges were ridiculous and did not want to discuss them. Honestly, if you want a cheap place but don't care at all about service than this is the place for you, but if you expect for people to call you and to have common courtesy there are a ton of other better, low-priced places in Phoenix. Take your money elsewhere!
