Resident 2013

9/30/2013

Trillium North is the epitome of beauty on the outside but lacking on the inside. It doesn't matter how pretty an apartment is, if you can hear every single conversation (not even yelling but base level conversation), sneeze, cough, phone call, laugh, air conditioner, tv program, etc etc of the residents that live below you, throughout the entire apartment, you know there is a SERIOUS lack of quality in the design. In my life I've lived in a lot of different apartment complexes - Trillium North easily being the most pleasing to the eye visually, but never, NOT EVEN CLOSE, have I lived somewhere with such HORRENDOUS sound insulation. It makes you wonder if they stuck a few pieces of paper in between the floors and walls and called it good. It really is that bad, and it's extremely disappointing because this COULD be an amazing complex if it wasn't for this game breaking issue. It's also frustrating, because until you go to bed your first night at your new apartment at Trillium you could never really know of this deal breaking problem. Because when you take a tour of their model apartment you just think wow it's so pretty. Then you sign your lease, move in, try to go to sleep that first night and are met with the grim reality - you've already signed and you just have to deal with it for the remainder of your contract. And you almost feel like you've been had, been swindled, been tricked. You see the gorgeous grounds, impressive office, nice apartment design - but I would imagine unless you hunt down some residents before signing anything to interrogate them about their experience at Trillium - you could never really know about this HUGE problem. Well, that's why I'm making this review so that people who do check this site will at least know about it. Make no mistake, they are beautiful apartments and the grounds are kept up nicely. The staff is very nice and helpful and the one thing we have asked for to be fixed was done in a quick manner too. But this is a complete and utter deal breaker with the sound issue. My girlfriend who is even a very deep sleeper and usually is much less bothered by such things as this said the first night "yep, after this year lease we're out of here." It is not an exaggeration, you LITERALLY can make out an entire conversation of the person living below you that they aren't even raising their voices in. It even makes privacy a concern as far as I'm concerned - and I honestly didn't even know sound insulation could be this terrible until we've experienced this. Bottom line - unless you are an EXTREMELY sound sleeper that has no problems falling asleep whatsoever no matter the noise of your neighbors, STAY AWAY.
