Since you seem quick to be on the offensive I’ll fill you in on the situation. When I was doing my apartment hunting I told Orchidtree that I was looking for a 6 month lease with an option for up to eight months. Like you, I was looking for a cheap place to live near downtown Scottsdale. I told management about the competitors that I was looking at, and their prices (which happened to be 40-50 bucks cheaper a month). Two days after viewing the apartment I received a call from management telling me that they would give me half a month off if I signed a lease with them. However when I went to sign the lease that week, they changed the terms of the lease to eight months. In summary, they baited me with a half month of free rent and then switched the terms of the lease, hence bait and switch. One could argue that it was simply a mistake; however I saw documentation from sales that showed I was looking for a six month lease, so I doubt it. I wanted to sign with their competitors just out of principle, however they had already rented their respective apartments and I did not have the time to keep looking around. I am making the best of the situation and enjoy the location, however I thought it would be beneficial to share the story to the apartment hunting community. This allows future residents to know what they’re getting into.

It seems like the ASU student feels that college experience ultimately determines whether a posting is dignified. In that case I will concede that I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (--- laude) with a minor in business from a private university. I find it surprising that it was thought that I am uneducated. Perhaps I need to go back to school… Then again maybe this ASU student is just some punk that hasn’t gotten laid for a while and is looking for somewhere to vent. Who knows.
