Scottsdale Terrace Apartments

We are snow birds from Iowa and we rented an Arizona condo online so we could spend February through March enjoying the warm weather. We were not familiar with the cost of Scottsdale real estate so we agreed to pay $3000 for 27 days in a renovated apartment at the Scottsdale Terrace Apartments. From the day we got there, it was non-stop noise and dust. The parking lot was being repaved so we could rarely park near our apartment. The ironwork on the pool was being redone and more than 25% of the apartments were being remodeled. The noise from sawing, hammering, and tile cutting made it impossible to sit on the patio. By the final week, they were hammering on the other side of our dining room wall so we couldn't even hear the t.v.
inside. When we complained about it to America's Direct Real Estate and Management Company we were told the owners of the unit would reimburse a $1000. It has been three months since this agreement was made. The owners refused to talk to us about it for 6 weeks after we left and have now decided to only pay us $250! The management company has decided it doesn't care if we get the money or not. Don't rent at these apartments. No one cares if you are happy once they have your money.
