I lived at Chesapeake twice. Once, while in college and again a few years later. Both times I found the staff to be pleasant, the grounds to be well maintained and very pretty (in stark contrast to the many desert themed properties). I had relatively few problems with the maintenance and I always felt personally safe there as it is well lit. I spoke with some of my neighbors who'd had their cars broken into but none of them had an alarm or used a club. Come on, people, it's the 21st century! When I moved in the second time, they were offering a move-in special that could be spread out over 12 months so I took it. The net effect, like others have posted, was what appeared to be an increase in rent when my lease was up but I will say they were honest and up front about how the special worked so I was expecting it. I bought a house but would absolutely recommend Chesapeake for an apartment dweller.
