I have lived at Grandes Cortes for 5 months now and I am planning on extending my lease. The management is very friendly and helpful, the landscaping is great, and I have not had any issues with noise or safety. The laundry rooms have been remodeled recently, and they installed a credit card system which is very convenient.
The complex is relatively close to the ASU campus. It is about a 20min walk to campus, so a bike or car are useful. The Orbit bus stops right in front of the complex and drives to campus.
Unfortunately, the studio apartments only have one window, so they are not well-lit. Some of the apartments have not been remodeled, so the interior is outdated, but still functional.
I have had minimal problems with pests (since my apartment is on the first floor, ants and cockroaches have gotten in a few times) - nothing serious.
Overall, I am very happy with the complex and have no intention of moving anytime soon.
UPDATES:
A few months ago someone attempted to break into my apartment when I was gone for the weekend. I filed a police report, but I definitely feel less safe in the complex. When I informed management, they did not seem concerned and reacted as if it was a common occurrence. Which worries me.
Also, I measured my studio apartment and it is far smaller than the complex claims on their website. They state that it is 450 square feet, but I found it to be under 300.
I do enjoy the pool and landscaping, and the management is extremely friendly and professional (the police office DID say that it is common to experience burglary in the neighborhood...). Hopefully safety is not an issue in the future.
