I moved here in 2010 when I started graduate school at the UA. In 2015, I moved to Chicago after graduating. As beautiful as Chicago apartments are, I still think of Altamira with great fondness. When I was living at Altamira, I had nothing but positive experiences. Everything is so great at this location: the well-maintained laundromats, the nicely shaded parking space, and the beautiful remodeled gym.
All of the amenities are only a small part of what makes Altamira such a wonderful location. As others have noted already, there's a strong sense of community. When I was a busy graduate student, it was hard to even get out of the house, much less get to know people. But, I had wonderful neighbors who kept me balanced. They took me out to lunch on multiple occasions, and encouraged me when I was wrapping up my dissertation. They are a supportive group!!! I am still friends with my neighbors at this place, and I often call to catch up with them.
Thank you, Altamira. I can't imagine having lived anywhere else during my time in Tucson. Former resident of Apt 25B
