Resident 2012

7/20/2012

I am a serious student, and really liked how close AZ commons II was to campus. I liked that they advertised a quick bike ride to everything, including grocery stores, bank, etc. HOWEVER, I am now sleeping on the floor in a friend's house because of how HORRIBLE AZ commons II has been to live in. Let me list the reasons: 1. The walls are so thin, I can literally hear my neighbors drop their keys (and party 'til 4am, and have sex, and fight with their parents on the phone, and listen to music, and cough). As a serious student, I was up until all hours of the night due to my neighbors activities. 2. The apartment is in a VERY bad neighborhood. There is a security guard advertised, yet I have never seen him/her. ESPECIALLY when my car was broken into, and when I went outside, I was CHASED BY THE MAN WHO BROKE INTO MY CAR INTO MY APARTMENT WHILE HE THREATENED TO HURT ME WITH THE CROWBAR THAT HE USED TO BREAK INTO MY CAR WITH!!!! 3. The building structure is atrocious. There are leaks in my roommate's closet that form literal puddles every time the upstairs neighbor showers. A year later, it is still not fixed. There are cracks under the doors where I have had lizards, spiders, rain water, and dirt come into my room through. 4. There is currently NO laundry facility, because the money cards that we need to use the laundry facility are broken. I have also had my underwear stolen out of the washer once- and my entire load of laundry another time. 5. The plumbing is awful. Water comes out from the shower brown and dirty for a while before it is clear. Sewage came up through our kitchen sink, and again maintenance did nothing. Water is often unavailable, with no warning. 6. During construction, our front door and bedroom doors (leading to the outside) were left open, leaving all our belongings exposed to not only the outside, but every person walking by the apartment. Thank goodness one of my roommates came home and was able to close the doors. 7. When we signed a lease, we were unaware that there would be construction. My roommates and I are cocktail waitresses, often working extremely hard until 3 or 4 in the morning. Construction begins at 8 in the morning, waking us up. We have made our class schedules accommodate our work schedule, so we can both be serious working students. The construction cut into our plan, affecting our work and school performance. The cheap rent is NOT worth it. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE Read more: http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/AZ-Tucson-Arizona-Comm
