I had the pleasure of living in Don Martin apartments for just shy of two years and had previously lived on the eastern side of Tucson. I was looking for a place where I could walk to everything--and Don Martin was definitely that place. The building is older but maintained extremely well, the landscaping was impeccable and I was always happy to bring guests over as I was proud to live in the building. Playing music loudly wasn't really an option as the proximity to the neighbors meant that you could possibly bother someone. I, personally, found that the community in Don Martin was really chill about this during normal hours--but if you wanted to play music loudly late at night, then Don Martin probably isn't for you as most people in there are professionals who have to work in the morning. The landlord and staff all knew me on a first name basis and were hands-down the most attentive landlords I have ever had in my life. Maintenance didn't balk at fixing a toilet seat when it broke, or replacing a sink that was leaky, or responding to requests for work in the common areas. I also left for work at one point for a significant length of time and they took time to come run my faucets for me and check up on the apartment, as well as paid for cleaners to come in and do a quick cleaning of my apartment before I returned. This is on top of the $50 in Starbucks gift cards they gave me to welcome me back. I definitely recommend Don Martin if you're looking for that downtown lifestyle.
