Resident 2012

11/10/2012

ok this will be a bit long but please read i am only doing this to help prevent more people getting screwed. first off the windows here are thin cheaply made single pane windows they do nothing to keep the warmth/cold in they leak water when it rains which then runs to the floor heaters (which do absolutly nothing unless they are all on high....oh yeah there is a heater for each room the livingroom and kitchen, they dont blow air they just radiate heat which every last one minus the kitchen is below a cheap window so it all jus escapes through the window). the subfloring is concrete with chunks here and there missing. they have a german roach problem, and they ------ rig everything if they fix it at all. the solution to my windows (only after calling the city inspector on them....which btw seems pretty buddy buddy with them)was to drill wholes in my window seal and shut my heaters off with a new born living here. my fridge was letting my food get warm so they switched it with another unit and this one the seal doesnt latch so you feel the cold air come out (between this and the windows my power bill is about $20 more than it should be) so instead of replacing it they put vasaline on it. my stove burner keeps putting sparks out and melting the plastic and instead of replacing the stove or fixing it they have replaced the burner 3 times.stuff from my apartment keeps coming up missing small stuff like silverware clothes $1 here $5 there only 2 major things came up missing so far. our wic book and a pre approved credit card ap from my bank. there,s a 90% mexican population here and if you arent close to them or help them they treat you like ish. they are almost always up til bout 2 am being loud as can be there are always people smoking pot by the swimming pool and the landlord plays favorites. ie my fiancee was boing to get a boxer as a companion pet and she said no but the mexican family here has a pitbull. she said i couldnt put pastic in my window to keep the apt at a comfortable temp but a mexican family here has aluminum foil and news paper in theres i had a bath mat hanging on my rail to dry and she said i couldnt because it looked trashy but -------- have clothes and pinyattas or however ya spell that hanging everywhere. if you try to stick up for yourself they wont work with you they were going to evict us with a newborn because we were gonna be 3 days late on rent. and not that we were gonna stay anyhow but i just got a letter stating that i had to be out dec 31st because they have "elected not to renew my lease" when its my choice to renew or just go months to month because the lease here is 12 months then after that its month to month basis uless you want to sign another lease. this letter came about 2 weeks after i told norma (the landlord) i planned on moving at the end of jan due to the fact that my fiancee and i jus had a baby so we are still trying to catch up on bills and there halloween thanks giving and christmas. so unless you are either mexican or you just dont care about comfortable safe living avoid this complex and any other property managed by NorthStar management and consulting inc. if you contact them to complain about the poor management by your property manager/landlord they wont ever call you back they just contact the landlord who then complains to you. hope you read this all and take my warning.
