Not sure why Mike got a bad rap, I am guessing whoever dissed him is high maintenance herself. Del Coronado is a great place to live. Roomy apartments for the price (walk-in closets), clean, full-size swimming pool, private balconies, on-site manager who fixes things fairly quickly, reserved parking space. Walking distance to Crab Cove, the park, post office, library, AC Transit, Webster Street shops and farmers market. All in the best city in the Bay Area to live -- Alameda. What more can you ask for?
Visitor parking can be a challenge, and Central is a pretty busy street, but those are pretty much my only gripes. Oh, and if you don't like the occasional sound of children you may want to look elsewhere -- plenty of kids live in this building and there is also an elementary school nearby.
If there was a washer/dryer in my unit it would earn an unequivocal 5 stars -- but try finding that in any apartment in the Bay Area. There are laundry facilities on-site though.
