I've been reading all of the negative reviews and I gotta say, you shouldn't judge the manager or critisize the staff for doing their jobs. Property management is a difficult job dealing with tenant issues, stress from owners, and overall trying to appease everyone. In this difficult economy finding a stable job that will support your family is extremely scarce and they are just trying to keep food on the table and a roof over their family's heads. I am sure you wouldn't want someone going to your job and bad mouthing you or putting you down by calling you a puppet because you follow your bosses orders. Look, I don't work here and I am not a friend of anyone associated with this complex, but I am a Property Manager at another complex who has just finished a year long renovation of the complex and there is alot of things you have to understand as a renter in a three story apartment complex. Noise is going to happen in any apartment complex, you are sharing walls and of course there will be noise during construction. I live on the top (second) floor of my apartment complex and I hear the neihbors below me talking, taking a shower and yelling, etc. Also, when under construction, there is no guarentee of the time frame of completion of the project. Depending on the quality of work from the construction company the owner's go with, the contractors may say that the project will take only three weeks, but it ends up being 3-4 months. The bottom line is that you can never know for sure if something will go wrong with the construction process which might delay the project being completed. As for the owners, I do not know them but I have met one guy from there who wasn't at all bad, he gave me a tour of the complex and I was impressed with how much renovation they are doing to the complex. This is an investment for the owners, so they have to look out for everyone's best interest because happy tenants = good investment and it would be unwise for them not to do so. I know that this complex is repairing or replacing some of their stair landings which is a major headache task but it is so immensly important as safety of the tenants, staff, etc is at stake. You can't tell me that the owner's don't care about their tenants if their putting alot of their own money into renovating the property. This is not a goverment owned property, so the owners must rely on profits and any bank loans (if used) to do any renovations as does every business. On the positive side of everything, the apartment location is very nice, and let's not forget, we pay the amount of rent we do not only for quality of the home but also for location! Construction is a very frustrating time for everyone, but the end product will make it worth while. So take it easy on bashing the Dunes Apartments, just like every other older complex, they have their issues, but working together as tenants and managers we can all relieve some of these issues and stresses just by opening the lines of communication and coming up with effective solutions. A good Property Manager is a problem solver, so tell them your issues so that they can be corrected. Remember, no two managers are alike!
