I have been living here with my family for about a year. Overall, my experience here has been great! We moved from out-of-state and I had never seen the place before. Although it took me a while to get used to a one bedroom, while living with a toddler, this place has now grown on me. The neighbors are really nice, the manager has always taken care of any issues promptly, (she lives on location and is really easy to get a hold of), and even the maintenance man is very friendly, always saying hi to my daughter by name. The apartment is right across the street from the beach and a bird sanctuary. The street has a great view of San Francisco and the bay, and the shopping center is right down the street, making it easy to take my daughter out in the stroller to get some groceries. Downtown Alameda is within walking distance, and so is a park. I've never felt unsafe. There's gated parking and you need keys to get through all the doors and gates that lead into the building area. (Sometimes a little annoying when you're trying to bring in bags of groceries, and hold a squirming toddler's hand, while fiddling with the lock, but I'll deal with it because it does make me feel safer)
