Management likes to make up rules as they go for whatever they don't want tenants doing. When told I had to remove my BBQ from the patio they claimed it was for fire code. I asked why I was allowed to move in with it in the first place - their response was "we didn't enforce it then, now we do" so apparently mgmt thinks they have the power to enforce laws subject to their approval.
So after a long battle and being threatened with legal proceedings I removed the gas tank and threw it in my garage. 2 weeks later I get a new notice saying BBQs can't be stored in my garage either! I thoroughly read every word of the lease agreement and Landlord rules and regs. NOWHERE does it say that a BBQ cannot be stored in my garage. But again, after arguing a valid point and being rudely turned away I was told if the BBQ is not moved within 1 week they will start the eviction process. Unf*cking believable
