Resident 2007 - 2009

3/8/2009

Storyline: I am a very quiet, keep to myself type of person. The following statement is to express the experience I had living here at Beachwood Apartments. Originally I had planned to live here for 6 months, but they had a great deal for a year, so I thought why not. WRONG! First of all the leasing office staff was not as prompt and professional as I thought they would be in the beginning. Once I signed the leasing papers it was downhill from there. I was given the wrong keys to my apartment and mailbox. Maintenance was the one to give me the other keys to access the pool and fitness area, which the leasing agent neglected to give me. Not only that, but I was given the wrong car port # not once, but 3 times and then my car was towed in the middle of the night because of the mistake. Me, Myself and I had to go retrieve MY car because they would not bring it back till the following day. LAME! The parking is worst, if you get off anytime later than 5, forget it. You WILL NOT find parking, you will spend your time driving up and down or sometimes like I do sit and park at the end to see if anyone leaves. The inside of the apartment is painted with cheap waterbased paint, which means no matter how you handle the closet doors, bathroom and kitchen cabinets its going to peal! I have had a maintenance staff member come into my apartment without consent and also for no reason of any kind (without my knowledge)EXAMPLE: I was sleeping and heard my door open, beachwood staff maintenace entering and I did not call for any problems. Lots of stray cats around here, they are all over the place. People playing loud music and I am not sure, but OCD tenants vaccuming in the middle of the night, every night. The plumbing is the worst here. The sanitation tank seems to clog every so often. It just so happens that out of the whole building my apartment was the one that overflowed because lack of professionalism in the maintenance staff. Not only were unsuccessful in securing the problem at hand, but the complex themselves did not want to spend the extra funds to solve the problem and because of that I was left out of my apartment for a 8 hours or so. When the situation was finally resolve because they ended up paying for an ACTUAL plumber to come in, I was left with a smelly fecal invested bathroom and carpet. The bathroom was wiped down a bit, but not sanitized, I had to do that myself. As for the carpet issue, I had to speak with the manager in getting a new carpet because at first they just wanted to cut off the part that was affected, (padding underneath) replace it and then just get the carpet clean. WHAT THE? seriously come on, who wants to breath all that nastiness. Regardless if its been clean, its still unsanitary to me! Aside from all this, its a pretty LOUD complex to be living in. Kids knocking at your door and running, I usually have a different term for it, but yes politically speaking they door ditch around here. I have had problems with that and people putting things on my door handle. There are also groups of people just hanging out around, that are up to no good. If you are needing to unload and want to park closer to your building, DON"T beacuse someone will eventually spit on your door handle of your car. My storage was broken into and no one else around me was tampered with. Everything was taken and when I called to report it, beachwood said that security will be calling and that they will be right there. NO CALL NO SHOW! I had to call the cops (at least they are prompt) to at least file a report so that its on record. When the leasing office opened I address the problem and even though it was explain on reasons why the security did not show, I was not given a call back on why and the beachwood operator DOES NOT even know what the flipping hours of operations for there security. No common courteous call what so ever!!! The amount of persistence this staff carries is ZERO. They do not act on any issue it seems and when or if they do its poorly. As a tenant you have to act on it and make sure that every situation you have is taken care of and that's what this place does not do for you. You are the one to follow up, you are the one that has to do something about it. Save all your worries and DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! The management was changed, but nothing else has changed inside the operations of the staff because its STILL the same!!!!BAD!!!!
