PRO:1 block from central library, central police station, bus stop. 2 blocks from weekly farmers market, grocery store, CVS, and other bus stops. 1.5 miles from Disneyland Resort. CON: Due to Bank of America/Social Security office - parking on the street is almost impossible (thus hard to have people over.) Also, police helicopter circles day and night - plus freight trains run every few hours. PRO: Park across the street. CON:Children often don't use it - running wild in the complex, peering into windows, playing handball on building, riding skateboards/bikes/electric scooters - - despite posted rules!! CON:Managing company is unreliable, and current manager is never around or in office. He blows you off when you file a complaint/attempt to file work order. Our water heater is corroded/rusted out and about to blow up - but they wont replace it until it does. Upstairs lost theirs, flooding OUR heater storage&patio. Sink/tub/toilet turned out to have chips/cracks, but were painted over enough that we didn't notice when moving in. Shower/tub liner pulling away from wall& mold visible around (leaking) tub spout. Garbage disposal and dishwasher are broken. Hidden leaks turn into major leaks. Next door neighbor had to go on disability due to mold spores & resulting infected wound. Haven't seen termites inside, but fence is so over ridden, that it is no longer structurally safe. Area touted for walking/biking, but recently cited for parking bikes (used daily to commute) in personal unused parking space. Stairwells full of trash. When they are cleaned with a pressure washer, doors are not opened for ventilation - resulting in stagnant water, high humidity, moldy smell.
When we moved in - you could have dogs under 20 lbs, now multiple large dogs in complex. Also, MANY people don't pick up after their dogs - so the grass outside the gates, on the perimeter of the complex is ALWAYS littered with poo. Other problem: sprinklers are unreliable, and often left on for hours/days straight. Sometimes it's drier to walk in the street or on the grass VS. the sidewalk!
