Resident 2011

3/2/2013

Pictures on website is very beautiful. This is the first apartment I moved into. Within the first two months of moving in I experienced, leaking by window which ruined my couch, leaking on ceiling in the kitchen which ruined my laptop/tax return papers sitting on the nook. Also leaking in the bathroom faucet, bathtub and door wouldn't close in the bathroom, so my guest had to use the bathroom with door not completely closed and when someone finally did come to fix the place during the while I was at work. I come home to find out they had used my bathroom, with no vent on and left the bathroom door closed. People would park in my parking space and I would had park on the streets (not all the time but sometimes) I got locked out three times from my apartment and it took one credit card to get back in my apartment and while there is the security from 10pm till sunrise but he is only good to make sure no one is in the pool after 10pm. With above being said, the people working there did not care much if my laptop was ruin, that someone is parked in my spot or the fact the my bathroom was used without my permission. I decided to move out after my lease was up because they were raising the rent. Tenant pays for everything there and I mean everything. I called the water company in Burbank and they told my my apartment should be responsible to pay for water and not the tenant! It least cold water should be free but nothing is free even the usage of hallway lights will be billed per unit. Office managers at very, very unprofessional and funny thing management in this building has changed so many times. I have many stories to share but I will get to my conclusion. I have them my 30 day noticed and still kept mailing me invoices for next months rent. I took the noticed downstairs and told them I am moving out you have my 30day noticed! The day I was moving the mover is there loading my things and I asked the manager Freddy if it is okay to park the truck here and that I am from so and so unit and ate moving out today he said okay that is fine and walked away. Right before where I was suppose to drop the key they placed a wood block around 6pm and locked the doors. I was told before that they only do that so the tenant won't be able to submit their payments and next day when they do they will be charged for late fee. I had no where to put my key, so I left a note stating my key is in my apartment and my door is unlock. Please collect to key along with my news mailing address. The next day I flew out on business meeting. I didn't hear back from them till three days after the manager calls me asking if I am planning on staying on the apartment? And they will charge me for month to month which was three hundred more than what I used to pay. I told him that I moved out and that I spoke to him the day I moved out and I couldn't drop off my key caused they locked everything up and went home. I also told Him I left a note for them. He asked what prove I had that I moved out and they can not go into tenants apartment. I should have gave him the key in person. I guess he wanted me to drive to his home and give him the key. I said how can I be renting two places at the same time?? He said I don't know but you will be charged for the three days. I was so upset with this unprofessional manager yelling at me over the phone so I hung up the phone and never heard back from them. Till one year down the road I find a letter in my mail box from IQ data collection asking for money that I owe 1200 riverside. When I asked 1200 where is my invoice the same manager was there and he said it has been two years It will take time for me to look for it now. I paid them the money but till this date I am trying to get my name out of collections. The collection is telling me why I paid them I should have paid the collection so they won't give me a deletion letter. My credit score dropped from excellent to poor!!
