My room mate and I lived at these apartments for 1 year. We gave proper notice and left the apartment clean. Prior to the inspection the apt manager told me that we had to pay a professional cleaning agency that is licensed. He stated the apartment needed to be sanitized properly. After pointing out the laws that protect tenant/landlords and the use of security deposit moneys on page 53 of this document he agreed to let us clean the apartment. Which by the way was cleaner than when we moved in. After the inspection he sent the check which was received approximately 20 days after the inspection. There were almost $500 dollars deducted. I contacted the apartment manager again on June 23 to discuss these deductions and he stated that we didn't pay our utilities for 2 of the months. After researching I found that one of these had been paid and the other was a mistake with their accounting company Conserve regarding how they processed checks and automatic payments. My room mate dropped off the utility check and the office manager deposited before they deducted the automatic rent payment several months prior to us moving from the set up checking account. I had been in to discuss this with the office during the previous manager employment for resolution and with the current manager at the beginning of his employment. They lost the original check for the unpaid utilities and he stated he would check on it and let me know. I never heard from him until our move out at which time the attempted to charge me a $15 late fee. I explained to him multiple times what happened and he finally agreed to reimburse the late fee. This complex is not honorable and will take advantage of you if they can. I have made several attempts to get this resolved and we are still waiting for the remainder of our monies on July 11. Our move out was May 31. The apartments themselves are older and run down. We received multiple messages from management stating upgrades were being made however we never witnessed these things. If you have to rent from this community make sure you read and know your tenant rights in Ca. Get everything in writing and don't settle for less. Today is July 18 and my room mate again contacted the apartment manager to find out where our check is for the incorrect charges taken from our security deposit. He stated that with the 4th of July holiday they are still working on it. It has now been 48 days since our move out and June 26 was when he stated he would get a check to us for the overcharged utilities, paint refund and late fee charged as a result of their accounting error. I will update this review once receive the check. To review the property these apartments are older with minimal upgrades done over the past couple years. Currently the pool light that goes in the pool is laying on the side, a lot of the trees were cut down last year with no replacements, the patios remain the same after an inspection last year revealed they needed to by replaced, the security gate rarely works leaving the place insecure at night and maintenance requests were not completed timely or completely. The receptionists is very kind and does what she can under these conditions. Their were several maintenance men during the year that we lived here it seems they have difficulty keeping someone in this position. We could often here our neighbors at night especially on the weekends. The laundry room was broken into at least 3 times and vandalized while we lived there. It was several weeks before they replaced the dryers. This left 3 dryers for everyone to use. The apartment itself was spacious and the patios were large enough for me to have my plants. None of the appliances in our apartment were newer than 10 years at best guess. If you are going to tour this facility please speak to the other residents that sit outside most days on the tables and ask them about timely maintenance requests and upkeep status.
