Resident 2009 - 2012

12/11/2012

The apartments look nice since they painted and remodeled the apartments. They finally fixed the dead grass and the broken pool. So everything is great now right?..... Let me share the facts. Add $100 per month to the rate they quote you for rent. That's how much your water bill will be. Management lets broken sprinklers run all night long. My neighbors had a huge swimming pool size puddle behind their apartment for many days. It poured down the driveway! Why should they spend money to fix it when WE pay for the water here, NOT them. Oh yeah...look forward to that big rent increase come renewal! Good luck finding a place to park if you have more than one vehicle. The garage/parking rules are not enforced. Garages are full of junk and those same apartments can have 5 cars! Trying to get something fixed.... good luck! My favorite excuse is, "We don't have any of those is stock." The office staff won't tell you about the sinking problem. People are scared. We all have huge cracks in our walls. They treat us like were stupid,"It's settling from the earthquake". The earthquake was in Mexico! The manager sends maintenance to look at the cracks because she won't get off her butt to see for herself. Then they say, "We can't do anything about it", and leave the cracks unrepaired. REALLY!? Pit Bulls... drug dealing... graffitti... ------ neighbors... lazy management, I could go on. My advise is to rent a house, townhome, or twinhome in the area. For what they charge here for rent AND the outragous water bill, you can rent a house. That's what we'll be doing when our lease is up.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The team and I at Eagle Canyon do take the time to read every review, and use the information to grow, make changes, and improve our community for everyone. As for your concern about pricing, we do adjust rates to best reflect the current market value for the types of apartments available. These rates can fluctuate daily, and we do our best to communicate rate changes to residents during the renewal process. We have been working with our landscaping vendor to improve upon the service they are providing. Please let me know if you have further feedback. As for the water bill: we use a calculation which includes the square footage of an apartment as well as the number of occupants within the household to determine how the water bill for each individual building is broken up. We do have an abundance of parking, although some areas are tighter than others. There are plenty of spaces for everyone each night. We do not allow five vehicles for one apartment, nor do we allow garages to be used for storage. If we are notified of someone using a garage improperly, we address it immediately. Our dog breed policy is the same as all other Equity Residential properties: no aggressive breeds, including pit bulls. We have not allowed any aggressive breeds to move into the property. If you see someone in violation of this policy, please contact the office. Finally, we clean up any grafiti as quickly as possible, and fill in cracks when we are made aware of them. A recent earthquake did occur in Yorba Linda, and so we are doing our best to keep up with any cracks that may appear. We would be happy to discuss your concerns with you in person. Simply drop by the office, or contact me at kwilds@eqr.com or at (909) 628-8981.
