I moved into the Somerset Apartments in January, 2012. It was my first time moving into an apartment complex and I did not know what to expect. I had heard a lot of horror stories about cars getting broken into, management who refused to repair things and overall unsafe conditions at other apartment buildings. I wanted to choose a place I knew would be safe, quiet, friendly, and helpful. One of the biggest things I was looking for in my aparment complex search was safety. I didn't want to live in a place where cops were being called constantly, where neighbors were fighting, or where teens/gang members were loitering around the complex. I can honestly say I have never once felt unsafe while living here, where as while even just visiting other complexes I have felt unsafe. The gate operates extremely well to keep out unwanted visitors as it only opens and closes for members of the community and there are two security guards that I'm aware of that patrol the area at night . . who are extremely friendly by the way. Anyways, I have never felt unsafe while living here and the people who live here look out for each other too! I started my own business shortly before I moved into the apartment complex and needed to make sure the place I chose would be quiet at all hours of the day so I could get work done. I could not have chose a better place. I have never been distracted due to too much noise from neighbors . . . this place is great if you're looking for a nice, quiet place to live. In my apartment search I was not really looking for a place to get to know other people living there . . . I mostly just wanted to focus on my new business, but am so glad I chose Somerset Apartments because they have a strongly developed sense of community. Almost every Sunday many of the tenants put on a BBQ and everyone in the complex is welcome. Even people who have left the complex still come back to participate and mingle with the new people. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. Somerset Apartments even put on events on a regular basis, like Bingo, Bunco, an annual BBQ and are open to ideas about other things we can do inside the Somerset Apartments to foster a greater sense of community. Another concern I had when moving in was the available parking in case I had people over to visit. I have been to visit friends at other complexes where guests were not allowed to park inside the apartment complex and even had my car towed at one of those places. Somerset Apartments always has parking spaces available for guests and friends. The people who manage Somerset Apartments really understand the concerns and needs of their tenants and try to resolve any issues as quickly and as promptly as possible. Brandi and Karen in the office are absolutely amazing . . . anytime I have had an issue or concern they have made themselves available to me and others. They truly care about the apartment complex and the tenants who live here. Lloyd, the handyman on staff, takes care of problems immediately. Having said that, problems have come few and far between . . . in fact, the only time I have needed Lloyd to come by was to change out the light bulbs. The grounds here are immaculate . . . the groundskeeping crew comes by once a week (every Thursday) and cleans up the entire property . . . It really is a thing of beauty . . . Very green . . . Lots of flowers . . . Absolutely beautiful. I absolutely love the Somerset Apartments. I feel safe, can get work done with no distractions, have met some amazingly wonderful people and always feel like my concerns are being handled properly by the management here. I could not imagine choosing another apartment complex . . . I continue to tell my friends how great this place is and would encourage anyone looking to move into an apartment to choose Somerset Apartments . . . My experience has truly been amazing.
