As I enter the final months of my lease, I am seriously debating a move. The apartment itself is nice, but directly across the street is a Praxair welding supply company that illegally utilizes their parking lot as their distribution yard. Monday through Friday starting at 5am and often continuing beyond 7pm, there are forklifts and loading of loud metal canisters onto flatbed trucks. Throughout the night, there are semi-trucks delivering fuel, compressed gasses, etc. often beyond 10pm. The sound is so loud, so persistent, and extremely aggravating that it destroys any comfort in your apartment. Forget relaxing on your balcony or leaving the windows open to allow fresh air in. Even with the apartment closed up, the sound of the heavy machinery across the street is unbearable. The noise is constant from 5am to beyond 10pm. My apartment is nice, the appliances are updated, and the property is pretty well kept. Ultimately, I am unable to enjoy the apartment space as it is impossible to relax, work, or just live peacefully. The constant noise of the Praxair facility across the street is unbearable. I have previously lived in downtown Los Angeles and next to major roadways and intersections, and I have never experienced this level of noise. For those seeking a relatively peaceful neighborhood or a livable home space, I suggest looking elsewhere.
