It's okay
This place is okay, not great, but okay. I lived here about one year. My rent went up at the end of the year, even though I was told when I first signed the lease that the rent would "probably not go up." Pluses are well-maintained grounds and nice living space. However, reading over some of the reviews, I remember that not all of the apartments are the same. The living experience would definitely not have been as favorable without the ability to wash clothes in the unit. Mine, for instance, had a washer/dryer. I also agree with a previous poster that the common indoor areas in the units connected by hallways seemed stifling. Now for some of the major problems. You wouldn't think safety would be such a big concern, but surprisingly, there were several cars that got broken into while I was living here, including mine. I think management responded by hiring a patrol car, or increasing the hours of the existing one. I don't know what the situation was like later. Delivery of mail, especially packages, was a serious problem. There was no one available after normal business hours to give you your mail that doesn't fit inside a tiny box in the mailroom. Determining when were normal business hours was tough. Sometimes, well after 9 a.m., when I decided to go to work late, no one was available in the leasing office where packages are kept. One time I came back in mid-afternoon during a work day, same story, no one was there. And there were at least two instances where I never received any notice that I had a package. I literally received one item 4 months after it had been delivered. Thank goodness it wasn't critical or perishable. I agree that there was sometimes a bit of a noise problem, but I didn't really mind it so much. Kids will be kids, and they did get loud sometimes when playing outside. Again, though, with the hallway units I'd imagine that noise could be a bigger factor. The pet policy appeared to be selectively enforced. I was told that the policy was no pets, i.e., cats or dogs, but I definitely saw at least one cat sitting around outside someone's apartment, looking very much like it lived there. The cat was perched on a patio wall just kind of taking in the scene. It was there day after day after day. Overall, my recommendation would be to look around before paying premium dollar here. The place is fine, for a rental, but make sure that you have one of the better units. I'm torn about whether the unit I lived in was worth living there. Overall, I think probably not, given that there are newer apartment facilities available throughout the community that don't have the problems I described.Share This Review
