DO NOT RENT HERE!! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES!!

I only lived at Carlmont Heights for ONE year, but it is enough time for me to have nightmares forever! It is so dirty, garbage areas are always full, the stairs are dark and never cleaned, When I moved out they charged me up the ying yang in cleaning costs! I left the apartment in better conditions than was given to me. But their walk through is bad - get a dozen witnesses at least. It is quite possibly the WORST apartments in the history of civilization. Since moving in, living here has been an uphill battle. The walls are paper thin. My girlfriend and I lived on the bottom floor could not go a day without the family upstairs making an unbelievable amount of noise at all hours of the day. Literally pounding, jumping and tumbling non-stop. A few occasions, we could also hear the couple having loud sex. As for the apartment itself. Shoddy workmanship, crumbling walls, stained carpet, electrical sockets that shorted out an expensive microwave that we just had to end up throwing out. We also had bug issues. Termites, spiders and mosquitoes were common due to the lack of cleanliness. The maintenance tried to seduce my girlfriend and very often peeped through our kitchen window. The attitude of the staff is all say and no do. We had a sink issue and maintenance took a month to come and look at it and tighten a few screws. Problem solved. The staff is clearly underpaid, but they are not trained either and one can doubt they've been background checked for honesty (my girlfriend lost a watch, her iPOD, some jewellery and a few cds. Any call/s to the lady in-charge including the call for basic maintenance and pest control is met with indifference, attitude and a generally feeling of f*ck you. The grounds are decrepit. Shady stairways and dimly lit areas are perfect for ambushes. The trash area was rat infested and every other week would have at least one love seat-sized couch or dresser/drawer just sitting there. A few times I would catch a homeless man rummaging through the various bins. Parking is impossible because you end up paying for your own parking. If you don't have a car, consider yourself a bit lucky. Don't even think of having friends over. Just attempting to back out of the spots with a van next to you is a mission because huge trucks are parked next to you - the head of maintenance has his trucks all over the place because he acts like the fcukin king. The rents are far too expensive for something that wouldn't even be fit for the projects, but believe me, I'm sure that's not far off. If you want to live in hell, by all means, rent at Carlmont Heights.
