I'm not sure what other people are complaining about with the comments about "no microwave" etc. This is a wonderful place for adults who have their own possessions and want a clean, safe, well maintained home to live in while studying at UC Davis. These apartments were never the Atriums, the Atriums are a separate complex.

Russell Park apartments vary, some have carpeting in all the rooms, others have tile in the living room and dining room, and carpeting in the bedrooms. Our apartment has a nice patio where we have shade from a mature tree and have put patio furniture and potted plants. There is a lot of closet space, central heating. The air conditioner is good enough for all but the hottest days in Davis. The location is great -- near a small shopping mall; down the street from a community garden. It is easy to bike to UC Davis, and the UCD gym is about 5 minutes away.

For families, there are two well maintained playgrounds and a Montessori daycare onsite (you must reserve a space far in advance and it is not cheap but there are subsidies for UCD students). There are lots of children around for your child to play with, and the family atmosphere is calm and quiet. We have truly enjoyed our stay here. The only thing that I find unappealing is the countertops; with the Davis water rich in Boron, the choice of maroon countertops in both kitchen and bathroom is a bad one, as the water leaves white spots. Other than that, I'm very happy with the apartment, grounds, neighbors and management.
