I moved in a little over a month ago and the process has been horrible. I have had and I still have issues ranging from the apartment not being ready in time, repairs not being done and lack of communication from the property managers and maintenance staff. To start, when I moved in the carpet was dirty and stained, there were holes and stains on the wall and the screen was broken. These were all problem that should have been taken care of before I was told the apartment was ready. I requested the carpet be replaced but was denied by the management staff. After hours on the phone to the corporate offices, they reluctantly agreed to replace the carpet. The appointment was set and I hired people to help move the furniture, as i had already moved in to the apartment. The appointment time came no one showed up. I waited 2 hours before calling the maintenance only to be told that he had no way to reach them and I was "at their mercy." Rather than waiting around, which the maintenance staff seemed more than happy to do, I called every carpet installation company in the east bay and finally found the company that was to do the installation. I was told that a time had been reserved, but the maintenance staff neglected to confirm the appointment. So, I ended up having to make the appointment myself, because the maintenance could not apparently reach the company they hired. The company showed up 5 hours after the supposed appointment time. I am still having maintenance issues that have yet to be resolved, including cracked window sills, which we were told "would not be fixed" and a broken door sweep that i was told my the same maintenance staff member "would take a long time to replace." The maintenance staff could not be more specific than "a long time". Last and certainly not least are the spiders. This place is crawling with them. When I moved in to my apartment I found 2 nests. Unfortunately I will have to stick this out for several months to come.
