So my previous review was a pretty good one and I spoke very highly of the complex, but since moving out my opinion has completely changed.
I still stand by my comments that the units themselves are nice, the walls are fairly thick, and as far as construction is concerned the units are nicely insulated. I also think the maintenance man was more than pleasant and fixed things promptly and always tried to clean up after himself. I have no complaints about actually LIVING there.
However, when we moved out we were charged an arm and a leg for things that aren't even legal for them to charge us for. Part of the lease states you surrender $200 of your deposit for carpet cleaning. Fine. But on top of that we were charged the full cost of repainting, all sorts of miscellaneous cleaning fees, and despite going to home depot and buying brand new drip pans for the stove, we were charged for new drip pans (that was my first feeling that something was way off). They charged us a garbage hauling fee (FOR WHAT??)
The manager will find whatever she possibly can to charge you for, even if it doesn't even need to be fixed/cleaned/replaced. I personally spent 2 days hand cleaning that apartment upon move-out and even wiped down all the walls. There was absolutely NO reason we would have had to pay the full cost of repainting.
the total cost of moveout was nearly $150 OWED on top of forfeiting our security deposit.
Country Views has nicer accomodations than a lot of the other apartments in fallbrook, but be prepared to owe money on move-out.
