Eaves Foster City
Resident • 2005 Not Recommended
I've been looking on craigslist for a while now for a new place and within the last month, I just saw the 4th avalon foster city resident looking for someone to take over his lease.
Get this: you could take over the lease for $1110 for an apartment that's otherwise $1275! If the gap was really that big, wouldn't the management be happy to end the lease and put a new tenant in at $1275, making $175 more per month?
The truth is the advertised $1275 is a scam. It's pumped that high to rationalize the jaw dropping rent increases for existing residents. They set my new rent way above $1275 and when I asked them why I can't pay the advertised $1275, I was told the $1275 is special for new residents only and the rent is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Talk about dealing with rude and obnoxious used car salesman - that's what management gets turned into after you become a resident.
The $1275 is also used as a bait for new residents since they will get a very nice "special", unless they're stupid enough not to ask for it", but when their lease expires, they'll get whacked in the head with a sledge-hammer surprise.
