I have to agree with the other residents here about this place being run by a low-life slumlord agency. I once overheard a resident joke about the state California considering to convert this place into a prison facility but they dropped the plan after they realized it would be too crual and unusual punishment for prisoners to live in these apartments under this management.
I still haven't figured out how they're trying to justify these insane rent increases. I saw an ad for 2br here for $1300 and I asked the office if I can just take that since my lease is up in my 1br which they want to raise to $1350, just for me
(plus add all the hidden costs/headaches = $300-$400/month). They said that's a special for new residents only and my rent renewal is non-negotiable. The office staff won't want to see you or even talk to you once you sign your lease.
They also keep a tab on all your service calls and will add those to your new rent when your lease expires. If you're a handyman and don't mind fixing something broken every day, you might enjoy living here.
