Update 8/18/05: <br>Almost in our 4th month here and still waiting for our washer / dryer unit to be repaired or replaced. Management has NOT contacted us to provide information or updates, we have had to contact them to find out what's going on (or I should say not going on).<br><br>New tenants in apartment below are NOISY and DIRTY. It appears more than the five people we were told occupy that apartment are living there.<br><br>We have also received more poor service from this complex today when we asked to have our unit protected against cockroach infestation after seeing the bugs in the apartment below and were told that preventative treatment is not provided. They will only put the treatment in place once cockroaches are present.<br><br>Isn't that lovely!?!?!!<br><br>Needless to say, our opinion is not as high as when we posted our comments in July.<br><br>Think twice before signing a lease here.<br><br>*******************************************<br REVIEW BELOW<br>*******************************************<br>Arc is Attractive and Affordable with Accomodating Agents!<br><br>Although we have faced many challenges since deciding to live at Archstone Fountain Valley we still recommend living here to all considering this complex. <br><br>Each challenge we faced was met with a solution by the professional and caring staff here...<br><br>Challenge 1) <br>The original apartment that we were scheduled to move into had a last minute problem and was not available for our move-in date. <br><br>Solution: <br>Another unit was offered in a nicer location with a washer/dryer already installed.<br><br>Challenge 2) <br>The second unit was already rented to someone else. Last minute changes to utilities were already made.<br><br>Solution: A third unit was located but washer/dryer not installed yet. Move-in costs were waived. The next month's rent was reduce substantially to compensate for so many last minute inconveniences.<br><br>Challenge 3) Our unit was to have a new washer and dryer installed and working within the first week of occupancy. We are going on our third month here and still do not have a working washer/dryer.<br><br>Solution:<br>Archstone mgmt is currently working to resolve and provide a new working washer/dryer. Received another substantial rent reduction to compensate for the inconvenience.<br><br>APPREHENSIONS:<br><br>- Better security<br> Laundry room facing Harbor is left open <br> so that anyone can climb through and <br> enter complex. <br> Gates allow anyone to follow someone <br> with access into the complex.<br>- Inability to be included in resident <br> roster at security gate preventing guests <br> from calling to have access grated for <br> entry after 3 months.<br>- Monitored parking to prevent some <br> residents from leaving cars in the same <br> spots for weeks without ever moving it.<br>- Several miles from freeway access.<br>- Management has not provided a high level <br> of customer service and support as stated <br> by corporate office.<br><br><br>ACCOLADES:<br><br>- Close to shopping, some stores within <br> walking distance.<br>- Our apt was clean and everything was in <br> working order when we moved in.<br>- Parking has been acceptable, with weekday <br> evenings being the fullest times, at <br> least on the north side.<br>- The grounds are well kept.<br><br>Bottom line...Archstone FV is a very nice place to live and is highly recommended.<br>
