When I was shown these apartments they looked promising. The management was really nice and the grounds were kept really well. I liked the upstairs apartment i was shown.
When I moved in I should have known something was wrong. The place was dirty upon move in. I founmd bags of chips and other food in the cabinets.
THings were OK at first but then things started getting weird. I lived upstairs from crack heads on all sides except one. I was offered crack and constantly whistled at and yelled at by the nasty guys.
The noise at night didn't bother me you get that with any apartment.
The first winter I was there I noticed something was wrong. When the lady downstairs would turn on her heater my walls would make some kind of clicking noise constantly...loudly. I would be running around in shorts and a tank top at all times because the place held heat to a point where I was sweating. Summer time was the worst. With no air conditioning (utilities are paid there so you have to pay an extra $500 a year for AC) I was lethargic and tired all the itme from being hot.
The plumbing was a joke as well. I had numer ous problems with my garbage disposal and came home to my whole kitchen flooded and sink full of water only to be told it was my fault. The vertical blinds were broken whe nI moved in and would fall down constantly letting anyone who walked by see inside my place. The toilets overflowed and the shower backed up.
I had overheard tenatns saying that THEY were being charged for the plumbing problems and if you lived upstairs and your toilet or shower backed up, and leaked into another house down from you you had to pay for the damages to the other persons stuff.
I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. I lived there 4 years because they accepted housing and it's like I was treated as a second class citizen when all I was trying to do is go to school and get a degree.
