Resident 1998 - 2000

6/10/2010

I had forgotten I lived here some years ago, thankfully! While they were nice to rent to me when others would not because of my cat and fair credit, at first it seemed ok. Then my cat fell out of the kitchen window because they hadn't replaced the screen yet. My car got keyed from one of the drunks after the gay bar down the street let out. I remember waking up to the sound of water... it was the tinkling of some guy peeing up against my wall downstairs. Condoms, used, found in my carport. My car was almost run down by a big ol delivery truck from the shopping center in front. The crowded laundry room gave me a "laundry anxiety" complex that still persists. But the last straw was when I was coming back from getting my mail; I noticed a little gathering of 10-12 yr old kids in a clump at the bottom of my stairs, which led to only my place. When I approached, they ran. This gave my poor cat the opportunity to get away from them, because she had been cornered by them. When I saw her upstairs, I noticed the red tip of a dart sticking out of her side. They had actually SHOT HER WITH A DART! She turned out ok, but was traumatized, and so was I. I moved right after that. No amount of good rent is worth the scum of the earth caliber of tenants living there. I guess it's cultural in nature, but the parents don't give a ---- what their kids do and don't care what they get into. I am SO glad I left there. Where I am is no picnic, but at least basic decent behavior seems to be the rule here.
