Reasons Why You Should and Should Not Rent from Huntington Breakers Between 2003 and 2004 when I rented an apartment at The Breakers the rent was nearly the same price as every other apartment in Orange County. My young wife and I were newlyweds and we figured that for the money we might as well live at the beach. I was a young Stock Broker with an office in Irvine and the drive home at night with the smell of the ocean and of bonfires along PCH in the summer justified the price. Also being so near the ocean and Main Street made for inexpensive and easy entertainment. I recommend The Breakers to anyone who is young, has expendable income and looking for a really fun apartment experience. The majority of tenants are between 18 and 25 years old and it is never hard to find a party. The complex has a pool, fitness center, outdoor barbeques, tennis / basketball courts and a putting green. If you are a serious professional or mature adult you might feel a little like you are living in someone else s spring break or the film The Endless Summer. The walls are very thin so you can expect to hear everyone else having sex, watching TV or entertaining. My wife and I were surprised to discover that we did not have air conditioning and also found that our unit had a huge living-room and an almost nonexistent kitchen. One morning as I was walking to my car the trust-fund kid who lived in the unit above me poked his head out of his window and shouted Dude every morning I see you wearing a suite and walking to your car where do you go? I responded by shouting back I go to work. He looked a little sad and confused and yelled back, Dude that sucks. The whole complex seems to be designed for a party lifestyle. If that is what you are looking for you will be extremely happy with The Breakers. If you really enjoyed college but are trying hard to grow up you will be distracted.
