Resident 2012 - 2013

10/26/2013

First off I wanted to write this review to warn any potential future residents. I saw many reviews that aren't current and would like to let people know the truth about this complex, not what management tells you. Below I will hit on all the topics I have rated and you can choose for yourself if this place is suitable for you to live at. 1. Parking- Each apartment is allowed two stickers meaning only two cars can park behind the gates. This is made clear in the rule policy that is given to each resident. However I've seen neighbors with as many as four cars [none which have parking permit stickers] save the open parking so whoever gets off work latest can have the covered spot. Brought this to managements attention and they said there's nothing they could do even though residents clearly break this policy. This can be a huge issue for those who don't work the normal Monday through Friday 8-5 because of street sweeping in the neighborhood. My fianc and I have already accumulated 3 parking tickets between us. It's also stated that cars in open spots must leave every 24 hours, which is also not enforced because I've personally seen cars parked in these open spots for five days at a time. 2. Noise- The noise from the neighbors is a major issue. As I stated before, I know everyone doesn't work a normal 8-5 but when you hear the people above you vacuuming their wood floor at 12:30am on a Wednesday followed by moving furniture around until 3:30am it starts to become an issue. If you plan on living on the bottom floor you may want to rethink this because I've lived in both, and I'm definitely losing sleep being on the first floor. On top of that the construction is very old [my aunt who is 55 lived here in her 20's] so as you might know the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbors do. This could be a problem when your neighbors are a young couple who come home at 2am on a Sunday, yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs. 3. Grounds- Nothing special but seem to be taken care of decently. Though there are children who I personally have witnessed going through here with huge branches, demolishing every plant in site. These same kids climb on top of the storage bins near the back of the complex and throw glass objects off them. Had to call the police because of these kids running around here on a Sunday night at 10pm causing a huge disturbance. This was recent and not during the summer either. The community is landscaped every Monday morning and the huge diesel truck that comes barreling through here at 6:55am will definitely wake you up, if not the truck the loud Spanish speaking individuals will. 4. Safety- I have a daughter that will be here in February and would definitely not be comfortable with her in this complex. At night you can barely find your way through the complex because on inadequate lighting. Not only that but I've had certain neighbors with 5 individuals living in a 2 bedroom apartment, that of which at least three would come down the stairs to smoke their cigarettes almost in front of my front door. As you all may know the scent carries and lingers around. Lastly if you live in the back of the complex I have stated that on Monday mornings the gardening crew comes. As you might think they are here for the majority of the day because the complex isn't small. What this means is that they take their lunch breaks near the truck that is parked inside the gates. During their lunch breaks I have witnessed these -------- gardeners with their shirts up napping by the truck, who also stare and make you feel completely uncomfortable every time you walk by. My fianc and I are uncomfortable enough by them, my daughter will definitely not be seeing this. 5. Construction- When you take a tour you will be led to believe that everything is brand new when in actuality it's not. It's normal cheap apartment stuff. Don't really have a problem with it but when you pay over $1500 for a one bedroom you would expect the community to maybe reinvest that profit eventually into the units, they don't. They always seem to have other construction going on though by the one of many crew members, which almost seems pointless. Have no idea why they employ so many maintenance men. 6. Maintenance- Not really sure if maintenance is an issue as I've never called to have anything fixed. However, if you aren't handy around the house I would suggest you live elsewhere. I've had to personally fix many things in my apartment because I didn't want to deal with the front office. 7. Staff- The staff [office] is very incompetent and will always try to forward issues to the manager which I have yet to see. Clear rules that are written into their policies they don't enforce. This complex was the easiest I've ever gotten approved for which should have made me stay clear but I was in a bind and needed a new place. Though my credit is up to par it scares me because it seems they will let anyone live here who can come up with the rent. If the money is there they will let you move in which is a problem but if your credit isn't great and you need a place fast this might be the spot for you. Hope this review can at least help one person out. Because I'm almost 30 years old and have lived in a few different apartment complexes I believe that my review is completely justified. I'm not the type to complain and this is the only review I have ever written about anything. That's how unhappy I currently am with this place. Go down the street to one of the other complexes, trust me you'll be happy.
