Smoke Tree Apartments
Resident · 2011 - 2012
We have been living here almost a year. Our contract will be up next month (thankgoodness!!!). These apartments are well-kept. The gardeners do a great job! I love looking outside my window to green grass and trees! Honestly, I think that's the only reason I like living here. I do not feel any privacy at all. The walls are thin and you can hear your other neighbors, not to mention ----- the manager who walks around with her dog 24/7 to look into your apartment! Parking SUCKS if you need to find a spot in the free parking after 5pm. It is nice to have a garage, but for the residents who have 2 cars, you have to pay for a car port (and that's if your car can even FIT in the car port). I recommend you try fitting your car into that tiny space before adding it to your lease. The rent is VERY EXPENSIVE for being apartments in Indio. Also if you want pets there are so many restrictions and rules! No dogs over 20lbs allowed (when clearly the manager's dog is 30 lbs). You must pay a pet deposit of $500 an extra amount in rent every month. Lately there have been a lot of breaking into cars and garages. The staff "tried" to fix the problem. Here's what they did: I walked out to my garage to find the maintenance man opening our garages and doing something to the lock. I informed my neighbor what he was doing and they went to ask management why he was opening our garages. They said that they were removing the spring on our locks so there were no more break ins. I was appauled that they were opening our garages without our permission. ----- said they were going to send out a notice, but they didn't. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. These look like great apartments from the outside. But once you've been living here a year, you get leery...
