At first this looked like a great place to live, if a bit pricey. It has lovely grounds and the apartments seem to be of at least average quality.
After putting down a deposit to hold an apartment, they demanded an application fee of $70 even though they had not given me an application and were not going to run an application yet.
They also refused to pro-rate the first month's rent even though we would not have been moving in on the first of the month... basically paying a full month's rent for only half a month.
This left me with a bad vibe, I decided to search for some reviews and I found this site. After reading all of the negative experiences - I decided to cancel, which the staff told I had the right to do within 72 hours. However they REFUSED to return my check for $70 even though they never ran an application because I NEVER received nor turned in an application. When I protested this, all of the fake niceness melted away and their true colors came out. I admit that I got a bit heated too in the exchange - but in the end it was worth it to find out how terrible the staff is BEFORE I moved in.
The parking situation at the apartment complex is also TERRIBLE, only the underground garage is reserved, and the other lots AND the street parking is FULL to the brim. We had to park quite some distance from the office.
I feel like I dodged a bullet by not moving here. If you read this and are thinking of moving in, do the research! Maybe things have gotten better, but don't count on it.
