Auburn Creek was the first place I came as a single parent with a young child to raise. It didn't have a great reputation at the time, but the rent was reasonable when I moved in (the year 2000) the apartments were 625.00. In a short period of time they raised the rent to 725 calling it fair market value. I was a long time tenant. I was paying close to 850 a month when I moved out; and during my time there I have to agree, management came off a bit militant, but overall it was ok. I loved the peacocks (which are an interesting part of the area) and didn't mind that it was across the street from a cemetary. The creek behind the property was lovely. But at some point in time we had saftey issues with the neighbors/drinking/sitting on the stairs/making it really difficult for me to get by to go downstairs. Just be careful when renting here.
