I hate living here. I have since day one. Worst housing decision I've ever made. The outside and lobbies are filthy and I'm so sick of smelling garbage and dog urine every day. It's unbelievably loud, which I expected moving into the downtown area, but it's way worse than I ever imagined. Living off Ocean Ave., there is constant dust/road falloff so your patio furniture will be covered in black dirt from the asphalt (and our apartment doesn't even face Ocean directly). We never open our windows because of the dirt, noise and the smell of car exhaust - not to mention the two main towers have giant spotlights that illuminate the exteriors of the buildings so you'll never want your blinds open at night anyways because it always looks like the sun is coming up. Despite paying $3,000 a month, some of the people who live here are horrible. Our TV was stolen right out of our living room on move-in day by one of our neighbors. Package theft seems to be an almost daily occurrence and the office does not hold packages for residents. The bike storage is not safe, we see pieces of newly cut bike locks every time we go in there. The parking garage is a nightmare - there is no assigned parking, the spaces are too tight and there are concrete columns every 3-4 spots so people ding my car all the time. If that wasn't enough, Camden tricked us into signing up for this crappy, spotty-at-best "Technology Package" (internet and cable TV service which is mandatory for all new residents but we were existing residents so apparently we HAD a choice but they lied to us). Add $100 to any rent you see listed here, that's what they're going to tack on when you sign your lease, and no you can't get out of it. Other minor complaints: the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in every apartment is beyond terrible, I feel like my clothes haven't been clean in almost a year; the dishwasher is a useless POS; there is no jacuzzi on the property, just two cold swimming pools; one or both of the barbecues are always broken; for pet owners, the dog park is not a dog park - it's a postage stamp of plastic grass that smells so bad with baked-in pee you won't want to walk near it, let alone go inside; the front grass areas are also baked-in-pee plastic lawns and they're absolutely disgusting; Amazon Prime Fresh won't deliver groceries here for some reason (after three attempts I had to cancel my subscription). One last note, I watched a man get shot and killed from my apartment couple months back, and I also saw a man outside shooting up into an open wound on his arm before that. I lived at my last Irvine Company apartment for four years and I regret leaving. I'll never rent from Camden again and I can't wait to get out.
