I have to say, I have lived in several apartments around Los Angeles, and living in Avalon Del Rey has been one of the least problematic. Yes, the neighbors leave trash in the hallways, and yes the pool area looks like Cancun during spring break whenever the sun comes out, but overall living here hasn't been bad at all. The office staff is pretty helpful and the security guard seems to be around at night. I will say that the parking is a bit of a pain. If you don't have an assigned spot ($50 extra per month) and you don't get home by 8pm during the week, finding parking will be difficult. I usually just park on the street and don't waste my time. Like I said, overall it wasn't bad. I would stay in my apartment longer, but my lease is up and I am re-locating.
