LOUD but lovely

Well, I have lived at the Chateau on two different occasions. Managers have always been sweet and helpful. It just recently changed owners so i do not know the new manager. The place is clean and beautiful. The courtyard apartments are beautiful but quite loud as all noise bounces off the walls within.

They have spent some money keeping this place up to it's original splendor. In some of the apartments there are dishwashers and they have taken the time to keep the original bathtubs and tile in tact. The windows are lovely but are not well sealed and often rattle and let cold air in.

Here are the issues. The parking lot (if you can get a space) is a NIGHTMARE. It is across the street and you must play chicken to get across Franklin without getting hit by cars doing 50mph down the street (a true feat when you have an armfull of groceries). When the Hollywood Bowl season begins the main street in front becomes a parking lot. It is impossible to get in or out and since the building of Hollywood and Highland parking on the street has become near impossible.

There is also many accidents on Franklin right in front of the building because of the "blind hill". The city of LA refuses to put a light in and drunk weekenders like to speed down Franklin and often take out residents cars when they crash. I have also seen a fatality.

If you don't mind the noise and lack of intellegent parking it is a great place BUT for the money you can get better
