I hate this place. It's the worst apartment and building I've ever lived in. The owner put up fancy facades so the buildings have good curb appeal. Once you enter the courtyard, you are in a third world country. The manager does nothing to maintain the property. The courtyard is filthy and smelly, the railings on the stairs and walkways are chipped and rusty, the planters are strewn with trash, and the common areas are never cleaned. the tenants who have lived here for 15 years are slobs who leave trash and household refuse on their front stoops and in the common areas. None of the units afford any privacy; most face the common courtyard on one side and the next building/alley on the other. Most have sliding doors in the living room that face a common walkway and a stairway, so I feel like I've been living in a stairwell, with noise, vibration and tenants' prying eyes. It is impossible to sleep at night because of horrendous noise from cars and large metal trash dumpsters in the alley. Vagrants rummage in the trash dumpsters all day and all night, and tenants empty their trash at all hours, and bang the dumpster lids. The manager, Janet, clearly hates her job and treats the tenants with hostility, actually screaming at the tenants when they make reasonable requests. My specific unit was rented to me with stained, shabby carpet; rusty bathroom fixtures; and dirty, broken vertical blinds. The manager will try to get away with anything she can. This is a very convenient location and a nice walking neighborhood. BUT FIND ANOTHER BUILDING TO LIVE IN. THIS ONE IS TRULY AWFUL.
