Alexan Fontaine was always a soulless place when I lived there (moved because it was walking distance to my office and - at that time - they accepted short leases). There is hardly any greenery in the vicinity - feels more East LA asphalt than Westside. I switched apartments after a few months because I lived at the front of the building and at that time the construction work on the street was REALLY bad. If I opened my window, my apartment would become covered with soot, dirt and dust. The side apartment was less dirty but I had a DJ who lived above me. Due to the short tenancy, people are always moving in and out making it hard to feel homey when removal vans are constantly outside. My biggest complaint was that the rent kept jumping alarmingly - at the end, there was no way the unit was worth what they were asking. The pool area is also seldom in the sun - so, not great inside or outside. Oh, and the pipes kept jamming in the shower - fun!
