Resident 2005 - 2010

7/2/2010

I had lived here a long time, and gotten to know the staff and tenants well through various mgmt changes. The grounds are well kept, and the maintenance team is great; Morris, the handyman, is a godsend in times of emergency! Rents are a little pricey for how outdated the buildings are, but I'm sure in the 80's this was a premier complex. That said, nothing is left in a total state of disrepair, excepting the railings and some of the older single-pane windows (which leave tons of condensation inside your sill come therainy season). It is a step above the rest of the area's apartments nonetheless. However, the new management is either blatantly ignorant of leasing laws in California or just sneaky, because they don't know their heads from a hole in the ground. They are penny pinchers when it comes to moving out; I wouldn't expect much of your deposit back no matter the state your unit is left in. I guess it is a business, but in this regard Norman Jacobson needs to do some work. It's not worth the bad reviews. If you're considering Muir Creek, know that your neighbors are great people and most very respectable and friendly. Just do yourself a favor and get to know Morris first. Without him and his team, I doubt this place would be running at all. Otherwise, the insanely loud frogs and dog droppings are the only problems. Leaves a little to be desired, but like I said, they're not projects- Just really need some serious updating!
