Crossing at Montague Apartments

I wrote a review previously and said that I would probably reccomend these apartments, but now I'm not so sure. There's nothing exceptionally wrong with them, but I'm sure you could get more for your money elsewhere.

The Pros:
-newer construction with attractive floor plans
-I have a large balcony, but I don't know about others.
-washer/dryer in unit
-security system (if you can figure out how to use it, no manual provided)
-night security guard (sometimes)

The Cons:
-You CAN hear your neighbors, especially outside. Also, the walls are thin, and I have a neighbor that I hear throwing up SEVERAL times a day. Yuck. Take some Tums or Pepto for Heaven's sake.
-Parking late at night is a nightmare. I work at night and arrive home around 1 AM and spend half an hour or so driving around, searching for a spot. Also, I know the apartments can't control residents' actions, but I have a problem with people parking in my spot. In the year and some change I've lived here I've had about 15 people towed from my spot. The fun part is watching the tow truck haul their car away in the middle of the night. Haha, jerks.
-Recently, I was offered a free steam cleaning for renewing my lease. I made an appointment, moved ALL of my furniture around in my apartment by myself, took a day off work, and the steam cleaners never showed up. I even called the office that day to confirm that they were coming. Of course, they came the next day after I had moved all my furniture back into place, and when I didn't answer the door, they just opened it and came right in (EVEN though I signed a form stating nobody could come in without my permission unless it was an emergency). I told them to leave, as they wouldn't be able to thoroughly clean the place with my stuff in the way. I was offered another appointment and an appology, but I'm still scarred from that experience.
-The culture food smell is disgusting. To me, it's just as offensive as loud noises. As a previous review put it, the spices saturate the air at lunch and dinner time, and I don't dare open the windows.
-high rent cost versus quality of fixtures and carpeting... tenants are on the losing end; carpet wears easily, appliances are basic, cabinets are made of particle board; You won't find any granite or tile here.

My overall consensus is that you'd probably be better off somewhere with more reasonable prices. I'm not miserable here by any means, but at the end of this lease I will be moving elsewhere.
