Resident 2009

9/20/2009

I moved to Broadstone overlook about 6 months ago with my girlfriend and 2 year old daughter. First Ill explain the postives then the negatives. Broadstone is really close to bussiness- you can walk 2 mins to a super wal mart and a little further to a super target. There are bussinesses and restaurants all over so if your looking for work or transfer its a good start and there are several bussiness centers a few exits away. Lake perris is just a short drive the opposite direction as well as the RCC moreno valley campus. Although lake perris has poor fishing it is good for watercraft. As far as the actual apartment goes the quality is good- I have a one bedroom one bath that is very spacious, bathroom is big and the apartment comes with all you need washer dryer in unit, fridge, stove microwave and dishwasher. layout is great and has a balcony of decent size- basically its good for a couple. maintenance is good and usually respond same day. management is nice but are very particular about their rules like balcony furniture and such. Parking is safe- you are assigned your own spot with rights to tow and garages are an option for extra $$. The utilities can run high- i hardly use any electricity and the bill goes beyond 150 at times. No free wifi.. The design is good inside and allows you freedom of decoration. Neighbors are friendly and the place is quiet. When you tour the apartments they will show you that we have a big pool, a small gym, grills and a jacuzzi, all of which have problems more often than not. the pool is usually dirty from heavy traffic- the jacuzzi is usually not working and when it does you can recycle the beer bottles and cans left there from people, and the gym equipment is broken except the free weights. If you have a kid its a good place to live, although the rent runs pretty high and thats even for the basics. You get what you pay for just remember that. these apartments are a little more expensive but a little more nice, its in a good location there only 1 other apartment complex nearby the rest is bussiness and such so theres no bums or drug dealers roaming at least none ive seen. Be aware though their contracts are very binding- they will not hesitate to leave an eviction warning on your door if your 3 days late. their late fees are ridiculous and their terms are strict, when you sign that lease your soul is theirs for a year basically. If you or both of you make at least 1400 a month combined then youll be fine and comfortable, but if your barely making that and have no job stability or only 1 person working then this wont work- As in our case you cant have a guy work full time and support a stay at home mom and pay rent and utilities, i thought id share that in honesty for young couples like ourselves. The apartment is worth a look but dont be sold on what they tell you its like a car salesman they need leases, go in with a max of what your willing to spend and a minimum your willing to take for it that way you get the most for what you can afford. I hope this review was helpful and helps people go where they need to go.
