Reviewed 08/17/2007
Like everybody else that has lived here, my recommendation is to go elsewhere. I rented a studio from the old administration in late 2006. I was due to move out a year later in 2007. When the new administration took over, they sent a notice indicating the terms would change if I decided to stay after my lease expired. Due to my place being small and the walls being too thin I had already made up my mind about moving out. I disregarded the notice. I notified the apartments that I would move out three weeks before my leases due date. They did not take the notice well and told me I would have had to notify them a month in advance and that now I would have to pay an extra months rent. This information was nowhere on my lease terms that I had agreed to so by law I did not have to pay anything upon move out. Francesca Lund, however, the complex administrator thought otherwise. She was extremely rude on the phone and told me she had no time to talk to me. Then when I went over the office to talk this over, she looked over my lease sceptically and still refused to admit that I was right and told me that I was trying to find a loophole in the paperwork. If she is still managing the apartments, my advise is to run for the hills. Of course I didn't pay the extra month and Highland Gardens was not able to charge me for it. I'm happy that experience is behind.
