I would not recommend this apartment to others. The #1 thing that is holding me back is the price vs what you get in return. The rooms are very basic with out dated appliances, poor quality carpet, squeaky floors, old counter tops, and the list goes on. I'll give them credit for some improvements in the past year like the outdoor patio area, bright outdoor lighting, and new windows paid for by PGE grants but it still feels like you are living in a sub-par unit. If I'm paying this much in Mountain View I at least need hard wood floors, modern appliances, a bathroom that doesn't look like it was remodeled in 1970, a washer and dryer hookup in the unit, etc. Even though apartments feel scarce in the area if you give it time you will find the place you are looking for.
This might be the right place for some people just looking for a place to live temporarily (if you are new to the area and don't have the time it takes shop around). The community is good and you will find your neighbors to be pleasant and friendly. The apt manager does a good job keeping riff-raff out. It's very close to Safeway. It's about 20 mins walk to Castro Street. It's very easy to bike to Google on Sierra Vista and over the 101 overpass.
However once you visit friends in the area and see what kind of accommodations they have for the price they are paying you eventually will want more and move on.
